Sprinkle the unflavored gelatin over ½ cup cold water. Let it bloom for 3–5 minutes.
Add 1 cup boiling water and stir until the gelatin is dissolved.

Chill for another 2–3 hours until set.

Step 3 – Red Layer (Top)
Dissolve the red Jell-O in 1 cup boiling water. Stir thoroughly.
Add ½ cup cold water and ½ cup vodka. Mix well.
Once the white layer is fully set, carefully pour the red mixture on top to fill the glasses.
Chill for at least 2–3 hours, or overnight for best results.

Step 4 – Garnish
Right before serving, top each Jell-O shot with a small swirl of whipped cream.
Sprinkle with red, white, and blue sprinkles for a festive finish.

Tip: Use a dropper or small spoon for pouring each layer to keep clean, sharp edges.

Expert Tips

  • Let each layer set completely before adding the next.
  • Cool each new layer to room temperature before pouring to avoid melting the previous one.
  • Place your shot glasses on a tray for easy transferring in and out of the fridge.

Variations

  • Try coconut rum instead of vodka for a tropical twist
  • Use lemon Jell-O instead of the white gelatin layer for a citrusy flavor
  • Layer in small clear plastic cups with lids for easy transport to parties

Storage

  • Keep in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days
  • Do not freeze, as Jell-O texture becomes watery when thawed
  • Garnish just before serving to keep whipped cream fresh
